“But the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted ever perish.” Psalm 9:18

“He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.” Proverbs 14:31

Over 2800 Staff of the Uganda Revenue Authority has reached out to the needy across Uganda as they celebrate 30 years since their organization was started. From mobilizing revenue worth Ugx 180 Bn in a whole year (1991) to mobilizing Ugx 368 Bn in just a week (FY 2020/21), they have decided to share with communities.

At Mulago National Referral Hospital, Staff serving in the Commissioner Domestic Taxes (CDT) office, Business Policy, Process Management, and Petroleum divisions have combined resources to deliver assorted gift hampers to the children at Uganda Cancer Institute, Mulago Hospital.

GLOBOCAN, a project of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) noted in a 2018 report that Uganda is estimated to record around 3,000 cases of cancer among children under the age of 18. There is a need to make additional support to UCI.

The Domestic Taxes Headquarters teams set out to put a smile on the faces of these children who are battling this health monster. The media(daily monitor) published an article on 16th February 2021 titled “UCI records 600 child cancer cases annually”

If anybody asked you why we are having the #URACSRDay today, one reason is to celebrate our 30th anniversary (#30YearsStronger) by reaching out to the communities we serve, the other reason is we are united and stronger.

“Hello Uganda,Today is the day when over 2800 of our staff nationwide are going to reach out to the communities where we have offices. We have offices from one corner of Uganda to another. The #URACSRDay offers us a unique opportunity of celebrating #30YearsStronger by giving back”, in a tweet.
