Unveiling the bursaries to the beneficiaries on Wednesday at Nyakasanga Upper L C 1 offices in Nyamwamba Division of Kasese Municipality, Trumpet Foundation, a local Nongovernmental organization appealed to parents to encourage their children not to lose hope in their studies despite the covid-19 induced lockdown.
Joneni Bwambale Bamwenda, the Organization’s Executive Director guided three students to the International Paramedical and Nursing School Maya in Kampala under the bursary arrangement and subsequently encouraged them to have focus towards their career objectives.
Bamwenda revealed that the three students that were sent yesterday are joining the 20 that are already studying under the organization’s sponsorship.
According to Bamwenda, about 50 vacancies are still available for students who are ready to study science related courses.
He, however, challenged the beneficiaries to have discipline, make friends and to also respect their parents and teachers.
Juliet Magezi, a parent hailed Trumpet Foundation for supporting her child to study a pharmaceutical course. She also advised the learners to seek God’s guidance so as to excel in their studies.
Loice Katusiime, a beneficiary from Bugoye sub-county revealed that she had spent three years at home without studying. She now wants to use the opportunity to a Nursing and Midwifery course to help expectant mothers deliver safely.
