In a bid to support Covid-19 case management in Lango Sub-Region, the Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services in North Lango (RHITES), has donated 126 Oxygen cylinders to Lira Regional Referral Hospital.
The donation also included accessories to help operate the medical gas cylinders.
Speaking during the handover, Dr Steven Obbo, the Lira Regional Referral Hospital Director thanked RHITES for their timely support adding that there is currently a high demand for oxygen at the facility since it is the main Covid-19 treatment center in the region.
The Hospital Director requested for more support from the project in other essential areas such as the personal protective equipment and supplies so as to fight the pandemic.
Francis Kazibwe of RHITES said that the noble initiative is aimed at helping the hospital in managing the challenges of inadequate oxygen facilities.
Kazibwe added that they hope the oxygen cylinders will enable the hospital authorities go a long way in managing Covid-19 treatment.
He promised continued partnership with Lira regional referral hospital in improving health service delivery in the region.
