The Uganda Red Cross Society and the Kabaka foundation have taken the ongoing blood donation drive to Kyadondo County with the aim of raising 10,000 units of blood.

A month ago, similar event was staged in Wakiso district where about 9,310 units of blood were collected from community members.

Irene Nakasiita, the spokesperson Uganda Red Cross Society said the blood drive campaign in Kyadondo will last for one week.

“We are moving in all locations and busy places rallying people to come for blood donation. Brave the needle and save a life as blood comes from you and me, not factory” she noted.

She added that the turn is good and encouraged other people to join in and donate blood to a friend, relative and loved ones to keep the drive going and raise the expected units.

Among other dignitaries who have already donated blood in the same event are Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and Bishop Kityo Luwalira.
