Pathfinder Uganda, a non government organization on Tuesday donated 60 bicycles to the Health Village Teams (VHTs) in Buliisa district to boost the work of ministry of health.
The bicycles were received by Fred Lukumu, the district chairperson, the district health officials, and other leaders at the district headquarters.
The bicycles are expected to enhance the work of VHTs in the district to conduct their activities including sensitization, family planning and others.
Robert Mugabi, the District Health Educator (DHE) Buliisa, appreciated Pathfinder for boosting the work of the ministry of health in Buliisa district and noted that they will support the VHTs in executing their duty in their respective areas.
“The bicycles will improve mobility of VHTs to mobilize the people on family planning uptake and utilization in communities thus improving service delivery in the area,” he noted.
The health expert also added that bicycles will help VHTs to conduct mobilization of immunizations, hygiene, and sanitation improvement, dissemination of information on epidemic like coronavirus, cholera, Ebola, yellow fever and others.
