MASINDI: WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2021
In July this year, Nile Breweries donated 20 oxygen cylinders to Masindi district general hospital to boost the fight against the deadly coronavirus pandemic in the district and the country.
Many different leaders including the Chief Administrative Officer, District Health Officer, Dr. Patrick Baguma, Deputy Resident District Commissioner, Dominic Tibasiimwa, the Hospital Administrator, the district chairperson and others witnessed the handover of the medical oxygen cylinders.
Simon Baguma the Masindi Hospital Administrator explained that the oxygen cylinders were installed for general purpose use as soon as they were handed over to the hospital to cover all the critical wards.
The health expert who didn’t disclose the number of patients who have been saved since installation of the cylinders explains that they are saving many lives at the facility.
“Masindi hospital has twenty four oxygen cylinders, and they have been installed in different wards. The hospital serves the communities of Buliisa, Kiryandongo, Nakasongola, and part of Hoima,” he confirmed.
Government of Uganda through the ministry of health and well-wishers has donated a number of medical equipment to different health centres and hospitals, both government and private to boost the fight against the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
This has also helped to save lives of Ugandans suffering from complications other than Covid-19 since Masindi hospital that does not have an intensive care unit for Covid-19 refers its patients to either Hoima Regional Referral Hospital or Mulago National Referral Hospital.
