KASESE: WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2021
The Kasese District Chairperson, Eliphaz Bukombi Muhindi has asked the Rwenzori Anti- Corruption Coalition to investigate the construction works on Kyempara Health Centre in Isango sub-county and
Nyakimasa Health centre in Bwera sub-county.
According to Muhindi, the government has invested huge sums of money for the construction of the said health facilities.
He said the health facilities should have been handed over to the district authorities in the last five year political term but up to now, they have never been handed and the contractors have since disappeared from the sites.
Muhindi gave the instruction during an inception meeting that was organized by the Rwenzori Anti-Corruption Coalition at the district multi-purpose hall last week.
The meeting was aimed at empowering the youth leaders across the district in monitoring and evaluating public projects in their respective areas.
The District Boss told the meeting that it would be paramount for everyone to join the campaign against corruption.
Muhindi also lashed out at allegations that emanated out of the recently concluded aptitude tests where some people claimed that they were asked to pay sh150,000 so that they are made to pass the recruitment interview.
He added that his leadership is currently investigating a staff who had camouflaged to be an agent of the District Service Commission and conned the applicants of their money in disguise of giving them jobs.
Misaki Byomuntura, the Project Coordinator for the Anti-Corruption Coalition, stressed that the organization had secured funds worth sh300m to help in investigating cases related to corruption in the Rwenzori region.
