As the country grapples to contain the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, a number of stakeholders have boosted the government’s effort through donations and procurement of medical equipment including personal protective gear, ambulances and others.
In Kasese, a district in the Rwenzori sub-region in Western Uganda, Florence Kabugho, the woman member of parliament has donated community ambulance to evacuate patients to different health centers.
That brings to five, the total number of ambulances in Kasese district, four of which have all been bought by the MPs from the district.
The new ambulance will traverse the entire Kasese district to help the people more especially the vulnerable mothers.
According to the politician, it will also help in the transportation of the critically ill patients during this trying moment of coronavirus.
The woman legislator explained that during her five-year term that started in May, 2021, she will put the health factor as one of her top priorities.
She assured the electorates that the ambulance will help the people regardless of political affiliations.
Mrs. Kabugho appealed to her colleagues in Parliament to consider boosting the work of ministry of health in their areas more especially during this trying moment of the pandemic.
