Seven years ago, Cross Emergency Hospital started an ambitious project of constructing a state of the art theater housed a new building. The administrators could not hide their joy yesterday when they commissioned the project based in Katekwan village in Koena Sub County.
James Adiba, the In-Charge of Cross Emergency Hospital said the facility has been referring patients who require operations.
“This facility serves over eight hundred people and mostly they receive those who have complications that require operations ”, said Adiba.
Simon Peter Mubbi, the Executive Director says in the last seven years of operation, the facility has been referring complicated cases.
“We will not refer cases that can be managed around since we got modern machines that will help our surgeons do a great job”, said Simon Peter Mubbi
He further said this building has cost a lot of money to put up, it was our main challenge which affected us with surgical referrals.
Stephen Ikodet, the District Health Officer, Bukedea district says the commissioned theater for the private health facility will now help in the operations since the district has got only one functional theater at the district health center IV.
Geofrey Okiswa the Resident District Commissioner Bukedea the Chief Guest of honor says as government representatives, they are going to work hard to ensure that the private health facility is coded as government hospital since it has shown its potential of constructing the theater facility which helps the people of the government.
