MASINDI RESIDENTS TURN UP IN BIG NUMBERS FOR COVID-19 VACCINATION

Residents waiting to be vaccinated against Covid-19 in Masindi

MASINDI: WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2021

Following the sensitization done by Masindi district officials towards the fight against the deadly corona virus pandemic, the district is registering a high number of people turning up for the vaccination exercise.

People are reporting at Masindi general hospital for vaccination as early as 6:00am. The district officials have employed a number of techniques including  radio talk shows, public address system, and others to sensitize the community to turn up for the vaccination exercise.

Dr Brian Mugisha the Assistant District Health Officer Masindi district local government said that due to the above techniques applied, they are registering a big number of people turning up for the exercise.

By 10:00am on Wednesday, over 300 people had already got the corona virus jab at Masindi general hospital.

Dr Mugisha explained that they are expecting to vaccinate over 1000 people at the end of the day.

Simon Mwesigwa a resident of Kikwanana Cell in Nyangahya Division Masindi Municipality revealed that he wanted to get the jab since last week but he has been bouncing since the hospital had run out of vaccines.

Last weekend, Masindi received 12,000 doses of corona virus vaccines including Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Sinovac for vaccination at 13 centres.
