KUMI: WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 18, 2021
Christine Apolot, the woman Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumi district said the vehicle Reg. No:UAT460S will support health services in the district.
This is in fulfilment of her campaign pledge of buying an ambulance to ensure that her electorates are saved by having access to quick health services.
The new ambulance comes three weeks after the ministry of health recalled the only ambulance that had been serving the district in order to conduct routine repairs.
Nelson Elungat Akol, the Kumi district LC5 chairman said the new ambulance will bridge that gap.
“This ambulance is going to help us to save lives because we have been without an ambulance since the ministry recalled our ambulance for servicing,” he said
Abdu Batambuze, the district chief administrative officer commended the MP for sacrificing her personal money to buy an ambulance and assured her that the district will cater for its maintenance.
He added that the new ambulance will also help in managing Covid-19 emergencies in Kumi.
At the handover ceremony held at the district headquarters, one Rev. Semu Onangu, blessed the ambulance and prayed for Hon. Apolot to live a long life saying that the ambulance she has bought will save many lives of the children of God.
