KITGUM MUNICIPALITY REGISTERED HIGH TURN UP OF TEACHERS ON DAY ONE OF VACCINATION

Kitgum Municipality has registered high turn up of teachers on the first day of vaccination after the commence yesterday in the preparation for reopening of schools.

According to Kitgum Municipal Education Officer Kibwota Richard Okidi says they have registered a good turn up of teachers from the three vaccination center of Pandwong Primary School, Kitgum Public Primary school and Kitgum Boys Primary School of which they registered a total of 211 teachers who took vaccination on the first day.

He said as Administration in the Education Department in Kitgum Municipality they are looking towards to make more mobilization to teachers so that they make a swift to respective vaccination centers

Kitgum Municipality has a total of 840 teachers from both government and private schools of which 205 teachers are apparently in the government schools and 635 in the Private schools.

Okidi said they still don’t have some of the data for teachers who received the vaccination in the first arrangements where they need to retrieve the data and submit the correct information to the ministry of health and national task force on the numbers of teachers who got vaccinated for further decision making.

He advised other teachers who have not received their vaccination to go for vaccination and should not follow the myths and propaganda on social media for the betterment of Education Sectors and should get the same jabs for those who are going for the second basing on their first shot.…End…
