KARAMOJA SPORTS: KARAMOJA PROVINCE FOOTBALL TEAM HOLD KOTIDO SELECT TEAM 0-0 IN A FRIENDLY MATCH

Karamoja region soccer teams have started releasing soccer players who will form the Karamoja province football team that will compete with other regions come August. So far 21 players have already reported in Moroto town ready to represent the region.

Coach Amos Okoboi says he decided to engage the players available with a select team from the Kotido district.

“We registered a goalless draw against Kotido Select Team at Naetakwae playground in Moroto Municipality on Sunday 24th July 2022 in the first warm-up march ahead of the FUFA Drum 2022”, Okoboi said.

In a pre-match press conference, the Karamoja Province head coach, Amos Okoboi pointed out that the team that is representing the region is picked from the national league, big league, regional leagues and a vast of them from the 5th division teams within the region.

In the past fufa drum games, players were summoned to the team, trained and when it came to the real games, different players were brought to play but according to to head coach, this time the priority will be given to locally based players so that they can get exposure.

The coaches and the managers said the team’s performance was not good according to the result of the game but are happy there is still some two weeks to adjust to the mistakes before the competitive matches start.

Karamoja province will now officially be set into a residential camp tomorrow 25th July 2022 at Apostles Church Moroto.
