On Saturday, Uganda will be celebrating its 59th Independence Day the soccer game held in Kigali, Rwanda is an early gift to the people on this day. With political misunderstanding that led to the closure of borders, any game between Uganda and Rwanda raises tension.
Faha Bayo scored the golden goal in the 40 minute at Nyamirambo Stadium in Kigali to help Uganda secure 3 points in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Following comments on social media shows that the sense of patriotism that they have for Uganda Cranes is a uniting factor beyond politics. Flying back with Uganda Airlines most Ugandans will welcome the lads who have given us 3 points.
As they sang the National Anthem of Uganda the rhythm and tempo and the words from the lyrics showed our National Team was on duty beyond a soccer game. Indeed the lads have raised Uganda’s prestige ahead of our Independence day.
The Deputy Speaker of Uganda’s Parliament, Rt Hon Anita Annet Among had wished the Cranes Best of luck as they take on Rwanda in the World cup qualifiers. Bring the 3 points, home boys! After the game, she said Well done boys Uganda Cranes Keep flying.
FUFA President Hon. Moses Magogo, State Minister for Sports Hon Hamson Obua, and General Secretary Dr. Patrict Bernard Ogwel cheered players and Officials at the Park Inn owed by Radisson Hotel in Kigali ahead of the crucial tie against Rwanda.
The government of Uganda was well represented and gave all the support Uganda Cranes needed.
