EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES IN UGANDA NEED SUPPORT THAN CRITICISM, HOIMA WEST MP’S AMBULANCE SUPPLIMENT GOVERNMENT EFFORTS

The Government of Uganda has been facing pressure especially when its dealing with an epidemic and now the Covid19 Pandemic that has put the whole world on its knees. The Ambulance services will never be enough in circumstances involving many numbers of people getting sick.

 

Hon Dr Joseph Ruyonga, the Member of Parliament for Hoima West says his Ambulance has helped cover a gap that would have affected people since last year when Uganda went in the lockdown.

“I procured the Ambulance to save lives of our people, since the ministry of health was hit hard by corona virus pandemic, it’s our role as leaders to ensure that our people are healthy.” He noted.

 

Hon. Dr. Joseph Ruyonga explains that the Ambulance registration number UAS 269X he procured during the first wave of corona virus has saved lives of people in his constituency and the country at large.

 

Hon. Dr. Ruyonga also explains that the Ambulance has helped to evacuate patients mostly pregnant mothers, and corona virus victims to different health centres for treatment.

 

“As leaders we shouldn’t wait for government to procure Ambulances, we can also support it since it’s for the well of our people. I didn’t procure the Ambulance because they voted for me but I gave it for the safety of our lives.” He adds.

 

Uganda being ranked among the countries in African which have managed to contain the spread of corona virus is a combined effort by the many stakeholders.

 

Many stakeholders including politicians, government officials, non-government organizations and well-wishers and others have supported the ministry of health through implementing on boosting the fight against corona virus through donating relief items.

 

The relief donations include; funds, PPEs, vehicles and many others which have boosted the ministry of health to fight against corona virus thus saving the lives of citizens.
