Bukedea: The Bukedea town council covid19 task force in Bukedea district is set to conduct the covid19 vaccination exercise in the weekly cattle markets so as to prevent the spread of the virus.
Bukedea weekly cattle market is one of the biggest cattle markets serving more than four countries in East Africa.
The countries include Kenya, South Sudan, Juba, Congo among others.
Sam Engole the LCIII chairperson of Bukedea town council says the covid19 task force team has agreed to set up the vaccination center within the cattle market so as to vaccinate those who are in the market.
Most cattle traders and keepers are always on the move and they have not been having chances to be vaccinated in their health facilities.
“We have agreed as a team to set up the vaccination center within the market and this will help us to vaccinate those who are not vaccinated”, said Mr.Engole.
Geofrey Okiswa the Resident District Commissioner Bukedea who is the head of covid19 district task force says this idea of having the vaccination center at the weekly market will now help to control the spread of the virus since the majority will be now vaccinated.
