Hoima regional referral hospital has handed a permanent sleeper tents to Butiaba health center III in Butiaba town council Buliisa District.
Peter Mukobi, director Hoima regional referral hospital said the tent will accommodate 25 patients to overcome the problem of congestion in the admission wards.
Other items he handed were 25 beds, 25 mattress and 25 bed sheets.
Mukobi said that the tent was procured from the health ministry and handed to Hoima regional referral hospital for onward delivery to Butiaba.
In response to the offer, the District Chairperson Fred Lukumu commended the health ministry and the office of the prime minister for having had a quick response to the emergency.
The district chairperson asked the health workers to protect the assets handed over by the government to deliver services to the people.
The Buliisa District Health Officer, Dr Nelson Naisye also appreciated the health workers for having persevered in working through the tough situation that resulted from floods and called for cooperation amongst them.
Moses Kahwa the in-charge at the facility said since the tent has been handed over to the facility, this has solved the challenge of lack of space at the health center.
On the same note, Kahwa asked patients to turn up for health services at the health facility.
