BUKEDEA RDC URGES RELIGIOUS LEADERS TO PREACH ABOUT COVID19 MESSAGE

BUKEDEA: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER, 04, 2021

Geoffrey Okiswa the resident district commissioner Bukedea who doubles as chairperson covid19 task force has urged the religious leaders to preach a message about covid19 to christians.

Okiswa made this pronouncement during the religious engagement meeting held yesterday (Friday) at the district freedom tree.

He says bukedea district is at the percentage of 26.5% covid19 spread rate whereby it demands a lot of community sensitization.

“We are now at 26.5% which is threatening, and as district task force we agreed to engage all religious leaders right from Pentecostal church, protestants and Muslims to join hands together to preach about covid19 message to communities,” Okiswa said.

Okiswa also added that as a task force they have agreed to ban politicians from speaking in burial places and tightly only twenty family members are allowed to bury.

“In our resolution, no politician should be allowed to communicate in burial places only the village chairperson is allowed and only talk about covid19,”Okiswa noted.
