BUKEDEA: WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER, 22, 2021

The resident district commissioner Bukedea Geoffrey Okiswa who doubles as chairperson covid19 task force have expressed his disappointment as political leaders and opinion leaders shun down from getting covid19 vaccination jab.

Okiswa says much as there is positive progress registered on teachers and some community members responding to get covid19 vaccination, some of the political leaders and opinion leaders have shunned down from getting covid19 vaccination.

He says it’s not proper for a leader failing to go for vaccination yet they are pillars which sensitize the community.

“I want to call upon all political leaders who have not got covid19 vaccine please let’s be vaccinated, we are leaders and we have led as example to others”, Okiswa said.

Stephen Ikodet the district health officer Bukedea says the district recently received a total of 1870 AstraZeneca doses whereby a total of 1270 doses has been consumed remaining only 600 doses.

Ikodet also added that before teachers were engaged to be vaccinated, the district had few vaccination centers of Bukedea Health center IV, and all health center III’s, but now all sub counties including hard to reach sub counties Like Kamutur sub county, Kangole has got the vaccination centers.

“We looked to extend the vaccination centers and to all sub counties including hard to reach sub counties, this with the purpose of speeding up the vaccination process for both teachers and community members”, Ikodet said.
