AMURIA: TUESDAY, AUGUST 17, 2021

To guard against the Covid-19 pandemic, the residents of Amuria district have been asked to observe the standard operating procedures instituted by the ministry of health.

Tom Epiangu Ibrahim, the mayor of Amuria Urban Council also appealed to the people to go for vaccination so as to protect their families from the spread of Coronavirus.

“There is no other alternative of escaping from Covid- 19 than adhering to the guidelines. The other way is to receive the vaccines,” he said in an interview.

Epiangu said to his dismay community members have ignored the guidelines since the easing of the lock-down restrictions.

“They have negative attitude towards the Covid -19 vaccination. This puts them in pole position to contract the disease,” he warned.

Epiangu said the Covid-19 is not about to end and so people must vigorously fight to safeguard their lives by washing hands with soap regularly or sanitizing, observing social distance of at least two metres, cover their mouth and nose with masks, avoid touching their mouth, nose and eyes with unwashed hands and take the Covid-19 vaccines.
