KITGUM: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2021

The Northern region tour by Uganda Cranes has impressed many youths to go for vaccination due to mobilization by taskforce team in Kitgum district.

The game was organized by the Northern select team and Uganda cranes as a way of talent identification and drum up support for football but the strict restriction at the gate prompted many youths to get their Covid-19 jab in order to entre to watch the match.

Over 500 youths were vaccinated before and during the games according to Rose Ayat, the vaccination team leader and the Central Division health inspector who said she way satisfied with the success registered.

“We received good number of youth before the match started. Actually it is only today I have realized how easy it is to work with young people,” she added.

Ayat disclosed that because of the football match the vaccination team did not put a lot of energy to convince the fans since everyone wanted to get into the stadium.

“Youths were the only age bracket that has been making our work difficult. I urge the Uganda Cranes to organize more of these games,” to simplify vaccination for Covid-19.

She urged the entire public to go and get vaccinated to reduce the rate of infection and protect their loved ones.

Ayat reminded the people to continue observing the standard operating procedures, wear facemasks and wash hands frequently with soap.
