TOTAL E&P UGANDA HANDS OVER 55 MEDICAL OXYGEN CYLINDERS TO BULIISA AND NWOYA DISTRICTS.

Total E&P Uganda has handed over 55 medical oxygen cylinders worthy about over 100M to Buliisa and Nwoya districts to support the authorities in boosting COVID-19 treatment efforts .
The cylinders were handed over by Jean Gavalda – Business Development and Corporate Affairs Director and received by the Resident District Commissioners – RDCs Buliisa Longino Bahebwa, and Agnes Akello Ebong of Nwoya who are also chairpersons of the COVID-19 Taskforces.
Oxygen cylinders were delivered by the public relations officer for Total E&P Uganda Christopher Ocowun, and the hand-over was witnessed by other taskforce members including the LC5 Chairpersons, Chief Administration Officers (CAOs) and District Health Officers (DHOs) among others.
According to Dr. Janet Olaa, the District Health Officer – DHO Nwoya, they have 32 oxygen cylinders and they will boost response in fight against the deadly corona pandemic in the district.
Samuel Magambo the Buliisa District Assistant Chief Administrative Officer said that, this has been an additional oxygen cylinders to 10 oxygen cylinders and 9 oxygen concentrators that were delivered to district by the Ministry of health.
Magambo says this will help in health center 4 that have theatres under operation like Biiso health center 4 and Buliisa general hospital ,adding that this will also help in reducing the number of referring patients to outside the district for operation.
Last year, TotalEnergies Uganda responded to the call by the National Taskforce at the onset of the pandemic by boosting preparedness and monitoring activities in Buliisa and Nwoya districts with a donation of USD 20,000 and an additional USD 50,000 directed towards implementation of recommended activities aimed at containing the pandemic at national level.
The oil company giant also contributed fuel worth 40 million Uganda Shillings and 5,000 liters of sanitizer through the COVID-19 National Task Force.
