MASINDI: FRIDAY, AUGUST 27, 2021
The medical staff at Masindi general hospital have received commendation from a section of patients and caregivers, many of whom have voiced their appreciation over the dedication demonstrated by the staff in attending to them.
“We are so proud and grateful for our health workers, they keep checking on us every now and then, and this has given us courage to trust them,” Ibrahim Jogo said.
This was during a spot check on patients for feedback conducted by our reporters at the hospital.
Masindi district general hospital serves the communities of Kiryandongo, Nakasongola, Hoima and Buliisa districts.
Jogo was admitted at the Male causality ward with burns.
Similarly, Hellen Atugonza, a caregiver who had a patient in female ward said she was particularly happy that the medics were committed to saving lives at a time when the Covid-19 pandemic was scaring everybody.
“Sometimes the world does not appreciate health workers, but in Masindi hospital, these people are trying their best to serve us,” Atugonza said.
Interacting with other patients at the same hospital, many appreciated the tireless efforts of the medics to save lives.
“The work these health workers do is valuable, we certainly cannot do what they do and we are not capable of the sacrifices they make each day,” commented Eric Musa, a malaria patient.
Dr. Charles Lagedo, the head of the Out Patients Department at Masindi District General Hospital, said he was humbled by the fact that patients were appreciative of the work they are doing.
He however added that it is because the patients are adhering to the instructions from health workers and following the prescriptions that they get cured of their sicknesses.
