NGORA: TUESDAY, AUGUST 31, 2021
The Ngora District Woman Member of Parliament, Stella Apolot Isodo, has donated the state of art ambulance and water boozer to ease service delivery for the area residents.
The Woman MP made the donations on Monday afternoon as part of the events to mark her 100 days in Parliament.
According to the legislator, she was compelled by so many calls from her people and the district seeking for help to evacuate patients to major hospitals including Soroti Regional Referral hospital which she said is at a high cost to hire from neighbouring ambulances.
The ambulance is worth sh100m and Mrs Isodo is optimistic that it will help the target population, especially during this period when the country is battling the Ccvid-19 pandemic.
Ngora district officials had deployed their official cars to help residents transport their loved ones to the health centres where specialized treatment is offered.
Ambrose Onoria, the Ngora resident district commissioner, while receiving the donation said the ambulance has come at the time when it’s mostly needed and will meet many health related needs.
‘’It is my first time to see a politician donating a well-equipped ambulance like this one. One can even be tempted to enter inside when they are not sick,’’ he said.
The woman MP also donated 1,500 chairs, ten 100-seater tents and a sh100m water boozer to help people during burials and related functions.
The district Chairperson, Odongo Mike, hailed the legislator for the donation while asking government to equip all health center IVs with ambulances to ease health referrals and management.
