SERERE: SATURDAY, AUGUST 21, 2021
The Serere County Member of Parliament who also is the Bishop of Impact Ministries based in Mbale City, Bishop Patrick Okabe has procured two more ambulances to help boost the health services in his constituency.
Speaking to the Village Health Team Chairpersons in his constituency, Okabe said he has understood the plight of his people that he has decided to buy additional ambulances.
The new ambulances are undergoing the necessary clearance in Kampala before they head off for Serere.
Those bring to three, the total number of ambulances that Bishop Okabe has bought for the constituency since 2016.
He said that the new ambulances will fill the gap left by the government supplied ambulance for Serere district that has being grounded, pending repairs.
Okabe said that one ambulance will be stationed at Kateta sub-county headquarters, another at Olio sub-county and the old one will remain serving the residents of Kyere town council and Kyere sub-county.
“The health system in my constituency is wanting and as area leader I can’t just wait for government to intervene,” he asserted.
The MP procured 500 Mama kits to be given to pregnant mothers who go for deliveries at the health centres.
“Some men who would have supported their wives have run bankrupt because of the pandemic. As a leader I have to support them,” he affirmed.
